Tyylikas Finland National
Ayrshire Show 2009
The 2009 Finnish national show was held on Saturday June 9 at the
Haapajarvi Agricultural school in Haarajarvi Finland. Ken Rose from
Mountain Ontario had the job of placing the 107 head shown this
year. Junior champion from the senior yearling class went to Margot
Penny owned by Aaro & Mirja Koljonen. Penny was an imported embryo
from Ferme Margot, Ste-Perpetue by Margot Calimero. Reserve Junior
Champion was from the senior calf class. Rounion Armotar owned by
Olavi Ahonkivi was sired by Birghdale Copper. Hon Men Jr Champion
was another Canadian imported embryo. Korkiakosken Evening et from
the intermediate calf class was sired by Don-Sher Hector Evening's
dam is Lombard Dale Wilton Icing who was Hon Men Champion at the
2009 SIL Spring Show.
Grand Champion was also sired by Margot Calimero, from the 3 year
old class Joukolan Viennetta owned by Jouko & Laura Laiholahti.
Judge Rose commented that she was the ideal cow that all breeders
are looking for and she could be a winner at any Ayrshire show in
the world.
Reserve Champion went to Lagace Ice-Man Model from the 5 year old
class, she is owned by Jyri & Tia Tanner. Model is also an imported
embryo from Ferme Lagace St-Hyacinthe Qc, and is a maternal sister
to the popular bull Lagace Modem.
Hon Men Champion went to a daughter of Forever Schoon MM Cornelius.
From the Mature Cow class Rannan Preteva owned by Aaro & Mirja Koljonen.
Daughters of Semex sires won every class but one, class winners
includes daughter of, Don-Sher Hector, Des Chamois Poker, Birghdale
Copper, Margot Calimero (4 class winners), Shady Walnut Conn, Kellcrest
Ice-Man, Forever Schoon Cornelius.
All Champions were sired by Semex bulls and over 80% of head shown
were also sired Semex bulls.
